Awful experience at this hotel. I hot water, no housekeeping, unclean and deplorable. Do not stay at this hotel.
Inattentive housekeeping and no follow ups by front desk.

No hairdryer and it took 2 days and 3 calls to have one finally sent up. Sheets were stained. Housekeeping was rude. Front desk was polite.

This is the worst Hyatt I ever stayed in. Was there for a wedding event few weeks ago. For a room for 4 people, only 2 towels and 1 tiny body wash tube. Took for ever to get housekeeping to bring extra towels. After staying for 3 nights, our beds were not done or room cleaned a single day. only trash was taken out. I am not sure how this Hyatt expects people to stay with $300/night without basic amenities, not even worth 1 star. Food options for breakfast are bad, room too small.

From start to finish, a stressful trip experience

When we arrived in the room, we found a pair of dirty socks from a previous guest near the door. We also found used fake eyelashes on the bathroom floor and bugs in the sink. The safe was unable to be opened or reset, and our phone was unplugged and didn't work. The windows and floor of the bathroom had visible black mold and rusting. The curtains could only be opened halfway. Most concerningly, when we used the shower, the glass door fell off inward onto the person showering, and the other person had to extract them from the shower to prevent the glass from falling. We raised these issues several times to the front desk, in-person as our room phone did not work. Each time, we were promised someone would be up "right away". After more than 3 times and multiple DAYS of waiting, the night before our stay ended, an engineer came to fix the shower door, safe, and phone. However, from the initial check-in (being told we did not have a reservation and our name could not be found when we had reserved months ago to attend a wedding block of rooms and had our confirmation email to show the staff) to the stay experience, it was a thoroughly frustrating and unpleasant time.

Serious Security Concerns at Hyatt Regency Rochester

During our stay at the Hyatt Regency Rochester, we encountered a significant security issue. Our room was broken into while we were out for breakfast. According to management, an older homeless individual managed to access the 18th floor and enter our room during this brief period and was not detected by any of the staff or security cameras. Not even by housekeeping, who was on the floor for the entirety of the time we were gone. After discovering the theft, we immediately reported it to hotel security. Surprisingly, the police were not called by the hotel staff; instead, we found the security team discussing the matter with the general manager downstairs. After waiting over 10 minutes without police presence, we took the initiative to come downstairs. Using the "Find My iPad" feature, I located the stolen items at a cafe about 0.5 miles from the hotel. It was only then that the general manager decided to involve a bellhop, and they set off to the cafe. We had to call the police ourselves, which was unexpected given the circumstances. The recovery of our iPad and MacBook by the hotel staff, before police involvement, felt both surreal and orchestrated. They refused to hand over the security footage to the police, there was a lot of whispering, and the general manager was nowhere to be seen after the police arrived. This incident raises serious questions about the security protocols at the Hyatt Regency Rochester and the staff's initial response to such a severe security breach. Many valuable and sentimental items were lost. This breach has severely undermined our trust in the safety measures at the hotel, affecting our perception of the Hyatt brand as a whole. We are reconsidering our future bookings with Hyatt and are in discussions with their executive management. Given the severity of this negligence, we are also exploring legal options. For potential guests, please be aware of our experience and consider the security implications of your stay.
